This year's collection of Easter Jeep Safari SUV and truck builds might be some of the brand’s coolest rides to ever reach Moab.
There's simply no brand more associated with off-road performance than Jeep. This year marks the brand’s 85th anniversary of building wheelers and crawlers, which is a truly incredible feat, given its starting point back in World War II.
This year also happens to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, which is the de facto holiday for all Jeep disciples. A double anniversary like this is worth celebrating properly, and Stellantis hasn’t disappointed; this year’s batch of Easter Jeep Safari Concepts are among the brand’s best. Here’s everything you need to know about each 4x4 concept. Jeep Wrangler Anvil 715 Concept The Jeep Wrangler Anvil 715 Concept is the brand's latest machine to adopt a nose inspired by the SJ-series models of the 1960s. This forward-leaning look transforms the Wrangler’s iconic fascia, but it remains unmistakably a Jeep. This particular concept was developed with long-distance overlanding in mind, though the engineers wanted to avoid unnecessary bulk and weight wherever they could. The roof panel is a fully custom unit, which increases interior headroom by four-inches. A set of custom sky lights help keep the cabin’s airy feeling, as the new unit is not removable for top-down trips. The roof panels are also accented by an integrated roof rack, which should provide plenty of storage for gear or tent. Other off-road highlights include steel bumpers front and rear, an integrated onboard air system for easy tire fill ups at the end of the trail, and a dedicated screen replacing the infotainment that runs Trails Offroad mapping software. And, most importantly, the Anvil 715 Concept is powered by the 392 Hemi V-8 engine. Jeep Grand Wagoneer Commander Concept Now that the Wagoneer lineup adopted the Jeep badge, the range-topping SUV is ready for the Easter Safari treatment. This particular concept even borrows its name from Jeep history, borrowing the Commander nameplate from the former three-row SUV. The transformation starts with a set of 35-inch all-terrain rubber wrapped around the stock 20-inch wheels, which should give the SUV a bit more clearance over the rocks in Utah. The underbody is also outfitted with a set of beefier skid plates, while a custom roof rack allows for a set of Baja Designs SPOD lighting to be installed above the windshield. The real star of the build, however, comes by way of the unique graphics package, which Jeep says is inspired by the old wood-sided Wagoneer models. Instead of going for the traditional grain look, Jeep developed a unique topographical map graphic, which was cut to shape to match the original look. The interior of the truck is left entirely stock, as the Grand Wagoneer is already a rather nice place to spend time. Jeep Wrangler Laredo Concept With this year marking such an important anniversary for Jeep, the brand spent a lot of time looking back at its history. And while we love all of the features and tech that the brand is able to jam into its modern wheelers, Jeep wanted to make a concept that is a bit more pure and simple. The Jeep Wrangler Laredo Concept started life as a Willys model, complete with a 3.6-liter V-6 and manual transmissions. The team added a two-inch lift from Jeep Performance Parts for a bit more capability and clearance, as the truck also rides on a set of massive 37‑inch BFG KM3s on 17‑inch slotted mag wheels. The roof has also been replaced by a unique manual Tan hardtop with a manual “Sky Slider” fabric section. Further enhancing the simplicity of the setup, Jeep has removed all of the interior carpets, replacing them with an easy-clean vinyl. The seats are also finished in cloth, but they come accented with a lovely southwestern pattern that feels right at home in Moab. Jeep says that this Concept offers some subtle hints as to how the Laredo lineup might evolve moving forward. Personally, I can’t wait to see what actually comes to the production model moving forward. Hopefully those seats are high on the priority list. Jeep Wrangler Buzzcut Concept by JPP No Easter Jeep Safari lineup would be complete without a build by the team at Jeep Performance Parts. This particular model is known as Buzzcut, which is a reference to the SUV’s custom chopped fastback roof. The setup drops the height of the SUV by two inches, which helps keep the overall height of the Wrangler lower when paired with a suspension lift and roof rack. Not only does that help keep the center of gravity lower, but it also makes it easier to snake through trails with low-hanging trees. Of course, this is a JPP build, so the SUV is also loaded up with tons of content from the existing catalog. These include items like the steel flat fender front and rear, a snorkel, the light pod setup, and the extended rock rails for when things get a bit extreme. Rhino-Rack provided the roof platform, which features a set of three 12-inch TYRI lights for additional visibility. The rear seats have been entirely removed to make way for a secure storage box from Diabolical Slipstream, further leaning into the storage theme for longer off-road adventures. The front seats are a rather slick set of custom high-back performance seats with Katzkin suede. That said, the unique Vitamin C Orange exterior hue is the true highlight on this build. Jeep XJ Pioneer With the Jeep Cherokee nameplate returning to the market for 2026, it was only natural that this year’s restomod project would come from the original XJ generation. This particular SUV is a 1986 model with the 2.8-liter V-6 engine. While the brand had initially planned on chopping the truck up to make something pretty extreme, they simply couldn’t bring themselves to destroy such a clean survivor. This XJ is actually a one-owner car from Nevada with just 80,000 miles on the clock, though it presents even nicer than that figure would suggest. That said, this isn’t just a cleaned up XJ. The SUV received a 2.0-inch lift to help accommodate a set of 33-inch BFG A/T rubber wrapped around custom 17-inch wheels. The lift alone wasn’t enough to fit those large tires, so the team also custom made a set of carbon fenders with a unique wheel arch. The team also installed a rather modern quick-disconnect sway bar setup, as well as some additional structural rock rails to tighten things up and better protect the truck on the rocks. I’m rather fond of the root beer brown wrap on the roof, which gives the truck just a bit of that hot rod appearance. Jeep Gladiator Red Rock The Red Rock 4-Wheelers took over the Jeep Easter Safari festivities back in 1982, and they've been at the center of Moab wheeling ever since. The group's efforts go far beyond event organizing, however, with a massive focus on trail clean-up, preservation, and off-road education. All of the work they do is on on volunteer basis, purely out of the love they have for the region and the sport. So, Jeep put together this Gladiator. It features a sweet graphics package full of fun easter eggs, JPP 17-inch wheels, a 3-inch overland suspension lift from Rock Krawler, and a bed-mounted cargo rack among other adjustments. Like every new Gladiator, the truck is powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
