The company's CEO said their pricing problem was fixed, but the 2026 Compass begs to differ
Jeep has drastically increased pricing for the 2026 Compass. Sport trim has been eliminated, while others gain equipment. Compact crossover now starts at $32,985 including destination. While the rest of the world gets a spiffy new Jeep Compass, Americans are being forced to live with yesterday’s leftovers.
That’s disappointing, but the new model is coming and Jeep is trimming the existing lineup for 2026. As part of the makeover, the entry-level Compass Sport is being dropped as the lineup will now consist of the Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. This is a terrible move as the Sport started at $28,895. More: Jeep CEO Says They’ve Fixed Their ‘Pricing Problem’ While this should mean that pricing climbs to $30,165, Jeep hasn’t learned anything from their disastrous push upmarket. As a result, the cost of entry soars to $32,985 including destination. That’s $4,090 more than last year’s Sport and $2,820 more than the previous Latitude. The price hike is so massive that the 2026 base model almost costs as much as the 2025 Limited. Jeep didn’t say much about the change, but noted the Compass now comes with additional equipment that is worth up to $2,350. Highlights include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and an 8.4-inch infotainment system. They’re joined by a “suite of active safety features, including Blind-Spot Monitoring and Active Lane Management.” Besides pricing and equipment changes, the 2026 Compass has an updated color palette that now includes Joose, Fathom Blue, and ‘41 Green. As before, all trims are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 200 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system.
