Jason Manfred plays a key role in the new Waterloo Road series Jason Manford is set to join the cast of Waterloo Road as new headteacher Steve Savage, and if you’re thinking the comedian will have a light-hearted storyline, then you’re very much mistaken. The role of Steve Savage is set to be a far cry from anything Jason has taken on before, with the actor promising a dark storyline as the show returns for its 14th series.
‘For poor Billy, because he’s quite a big lad, you think, “How can he be getting bullied by this little scrote from Waterloo Road?” But, of course, size doesn’t matter when it comes to things like that. It’s a power thing and they see Billy as a bit of an easy target because of his dad. ‘There’s a lot of parents that would go, “Just hit them first! Stand up for yourself!” There’s still people who deal with it in that way. He’s a bit old school in that respect.
