Prosecutors in Japan call for an Australian grandmother accused of importing two kilograms of methamphetamine to be jailed for 10 years as her trial draws to a close.

Donna Nelson 's family believe the West Australian grandmother was duped or forced into carrying drugs into Japan by a complex romance scam.Japanese prosecutors are seeking a term of 10 years in prison for an Australian grandmother accused of importing two kilograms of methamphetamine into the country.

She has told the court she picked up the bag in Laos for her online romantic partner, who needed it as a sample for his sprawling fashion business. In final arguments before a verdict next week, prosecutors labelled Ms Nelson as "untrustworthy" and called for the court to impose a 10-year jail sentence and a $30,000 fine.

Ms Nelson previously told the court she moved her belongings into Kelly's suitcase because she did not want to manage two bags for the flight and considered the bag her own because she was hoping to marry Kelly."I ask you, please consider the case carefully, fairly," she pleaded to the judges.
