Jacen Syndulla, the son of Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus and General Hera Syndulla, has only appeared twice in Star Wars, but his fate may already be sealed.
Jacen Syndulla is roughly ten years old in Ahsoka, making him older than traditional younglings of the old Jedi Order, but a perfect candidate to join Luke Skywalker's academy. His aptitude for the Force has yet to be seen, but if Jacen inherited the talent from Kanan and can learn discipline, he has the potential to be a great Jedi. Following his dream may prove fatal for Jacen, however, as fellow student Ben Solo may be the one to kill him.
If Jacen can show that he has the focus and discipline to be a Jedi, there is no reason why he shouldn’t be allowed to train as one. After all, during the period in the Star Wars timeline after Return of the Jedi, there are so few Force-wielders left, so having Jacen trained as a Jedi would make him a valuable asset to the New Republic and galaxy at large.
Luke Skywalker Is Establishing His Jedi Temple If Jacen Syndulla wants to become a Jedi, the most logical place for Hera to send him for training would be Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy on Ossus. At this point, the academy is still in its fledgling stages, but with the departure of Grogu, Luke is in need of students eager to learn and become the next generation of Jedi.
While Hera Syndulla seemingly has multiple options on who could train Jacen, Luke Skywalker is the most qualified choice. Although Ahsoka Tano is teaching Sabine Wren the ways of the Jedi, Luke's academy will offer the chance for Jacen to learn with peers of his age. Ezra Bridger would be a natural option given the bond he had with Kanan, but the missing Jedi may not be at a point where he's prepared to take on an apprentice.
