CAIRO — Two Israeli hostages released by Hamas, after Qatari and Egyptian mediation, arrived in Egypt late Monday evening local time, according to a state media broadcast.
Egyptian state-owned media outlet eXtra news broadcast live footage from the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza, showing the women — identified as Yocheved Lifshitz and Nurit Cooper Yitzhak in the Hamas statement announcing their release — being helped out of a vehicle belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross on the Egyptian side of the border. Both women are thought to be in their 80s.
