Gaza received its first deliveries of international humanitarian aid since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, and a mother and daughter from Illinois were freed by Hamas.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke Saturday with Qatar's prime minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to thank him for its 'important assistance' in securing the release of two Americans who had been held hostage by Hamas. Blinken and Al Thani, who is also Qatar's foreign minister, also discussed efforts to ensure the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas.
On Friday, Blinken said there were still 10 American citizens unaccounted for, some of whom are believed to be among the roughly 200 remaining hostages who were captured earlier this month by Hamas. Blinken said it wasn't clear what condition the remaining hostages were in. President Biden said he spoke with Judith Raanan and her daughter Natalie after those two hostages were released this week.
