President Biden will discuss the U.S. response to developments in Israel and Gaza during an Oval Office address Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern, the White House said.
One person from a seven-member group of journalists was killed and another was injured after being shot at by the Israeli military, according to a U.N. group and the Lebanese military. The Lebanese military wrote on its website that the incident occurred on the outskirts of the town of Hula, near the border with Israel.
The U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon tweeted that the Lebanese Armed Forces requested help saving the group during “a significant exchange of fire.” UNIFIL wrote that it then contacted the Israel Defense Forces and urged them to cease fire, which the Israelis did. The Lebanese Armed Forces then went in and rescued the survivors.
