How did Ohio State's defense grade in the Buckeyes' 35-16 win over Rutgers?
Whether it was because of turnovers, trick plays or a weekly special teams blunder, the Buckeyes constantly found themselves in unfavorable spots having to keep the Scarlet Knights out of the endzone. Each time they did so affording the offense more time to figure things out.
The defense even sparked the scoring surge once again thanks to Jordan Hancock getting his first career interception that he took back for a touchdown to open up the second half. Saywer has routinely found himself near the top of these lists this season, posted an 81.9 as the only player in the 80s. Williams followed with a 75.7.every player on every play and uses a scale of 0-100, with higher grades indicating better play. PFF has explained its grades this way: 100-90 elite; 89-85 Pro Bowler; 84-70 starter; 69-60 backup; 59-0 replaceable. In other words, it’s similar to how we would match up percentages with traditional letter grades in school.
