Ohio State football was ranked No. 3 prior to a 35-16 victory at Rutgers.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has the nation’s best resume according to the College Football Playoff committee, but that did not sway the opinion on AP Top 25 voters much.
The Buckeyes remained No. 3 in the Week 11 rankings, behind No. 1 Georgia and No. 2 Michigan. All three won over the weekend, though Georgia’s 30-21 victory over then-No. 14 Missouri strengthened the Bulldogs’ resume the most. Former Ohio State quarterback C.J. The only change is the Bulldogs now have 49 votes after stealing one away from No. 4 Florida State who now has two.
The top 10 only saw one significant change as Washington rounds out the top five followed by Oregon, Texas, Alabama and Penn State. New to the top 10 is Ole Miss made possible by a win over Texas A&M while Oklahoma — who dropped to No. 17 — lost to in-state rival Oklahoma State. The Nittany Lions continue to be a quality win on OSU’s playoff resume. But that resume took a hit with Notre Dame suffering its third loss of the season falling to Clemson on the road 31-23. That loss dropped the Fighting Irish down 10 spots to No. 22.
