Sunday to announce that the district it is closing its campuses for Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21 and 22 due to the winter storm warning that predicts heavy snow and sleet possible for the Houston area.

Miles, known for his aversion to ever closing schools, wrote the following message sent out to HISD families this morning.The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Based on the most up-to-date weather information available to the District at this time and to provide families with adequate time to plan ahead, all Houston ISD campuses will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 and Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
