This fall, Autauga Academy football takes on its first season under head coach Jeff Foshee and first in the AHSAA.
The Autauga Academy football team went 8-4 last year. They made it to the AISA AAA semifinals. But a lot’s changing this season.And they have a new head coach: Jeff Foshee. “I think our offseason program has been a lot better than what they’ve been doing in the past. a lot more involved. a lot more intensity, as far as in the weight room and stuff,” said Jeff Foshee.head coach at Stanhope Elmore“Coach Foshee coming in here, he’s really changed things up.
Given that Autauga Academy is a smaller school, a lot of the guys play multiple sports together, so the players say they are close. “As a team, we seem really together. We all get along well, because there’s not much of us. There’s only like 30 of us. So we all get together really well,” said Bryant Dupree, Autauga Academy senior tight end and defensive end. “Even though we’re new to the AHSAA, I think we’re going to be really good. I think we can compete with anyone.”
