A Harrisburg man has pleaded guilty to charges related to the death of Marion Holmes, an 18-year-old who was killed in a crash. Detrail Porter, 21, pleaded guilty during a hearing Thursday in connection to the deadly crash that happened Oct. 3, 2023. During the early-morning hours, Porter drove through the intersection of Holly and 19th streets without stopping at a stop sign, the district attorney said.
The vehicle collided with a Harrisburg police officer who was driving a marked car the wrong direction down the one-way street.Marion Holmes had been a passenger of the car that Porter was driving at the time of the crash, and the crash resulted in Holmes' death. In February of 2024, the police officer was cleared of all wrongdoing.
