Since Memorial Day, the Ohio State Highway Patrol has started focusing in particular on 10 construction work zones around the state.

Mike DeWine says he’s ordered state troopers to increase enforcement of speed limits and other traffic safety laws in highway work zones to deter unsafe driving that could lead to deadly crashes.
They specifically are targeting violations linked to crashes: speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and reckless operation in work zones. Bills to expand Ohio’s ban on foreign political contributions, put Joe Biden on 2024 ballot head to Gov. Mike DeWine ODOT is doing several other things to prevent crashes in construction zones as well. It is using rumble strips in some work zones to encourage drivers to slow their speed, and it has a pilot program for technology that remotely places and removes orange construction barrels rather than putting a worker on the road.to impose stricter penalties for reckless driving in road construction areas.
