The Paralympic flame was lit on Saturday in Stoke Mandeville, a village northwest of London, widely considered the birthplace of the Paralympic Games. Two weeks after French star swimmer Léon Marchand extinguished the Olympic flame to close the Paris Olympics, the spotlight is now on its Paralympic counterpart.
MONTGOMERY– A Geneva County man is sentenced to 114 months in prison after pleading guilty to drug charges, according to United States Attorney Jonathan S. Ross.
According to the plea agreement and other court records, on Dec. 2, 2021, law enforcement officers in Geneva County stopped Hobbs for a traffic violation. In the vehicle, Hobbs had two bags. One bag contained syringes and methamphetamine. The other had multi-colored pills containing methamphetamine.
