The former LSU quarterback is participating in the Senior Bowl this week.
The former LSU quarterback, who is competing this week in Mobile in the Senior Bowl, was asked his thoughts about the former Ole Miss coach taking over in Baton Rouge. “Well, I guess as Finebaum said the other day, he’s going to get the last laugh,” Nussmeier said.
“I believe they’re going to win. I believe that they are headed in the right direction. I believe he’s great for the fit, of the culture of Louisiana, of the players in the locker room. “Obviously, he’s an unbelievable X’s and O’s football coach as well, so I think they’re going to do some great things.” Nussmeier isn’t looking back, only forward as he takes the first step into the pre-draft process this week in Mobile. Nussmeier dealt with an abdominal injury throughout last year, which cut his final season short in Baton Rouge. “Frustrating, for sure,” he said. “A feeling of helplessness at times, of feeling like we were doing the right things and not making any progress and definitely kind of just was a snowball of things. Honestly, thankful to have gone through what I went through.
