19 News has learned that a Garfield Heights police chase involving a homicide suspect ended in a fiery crash Wednesday on I-77 in Cleveland.

The rollover crash caused a shut down in the northbound lanes of I-77 beyond Fleet Avenue starting at 3:15 p.m.19 News has learned that Garfield Heights police were chasing a homicide suspect when the driver crashed into the wall and then an uninvolved Kia. The suspect vehicle, a Jeep, rolled six to eight times, ejecting the suspect. The car caught fire following the crash.Tyler Smith was driving on the other side of the highway when he witnessed the crash.
“I just saw the Jeep hit the barrier wall in the center in between the north and southbound. The Jeep hit it, flew up in the air, I can’t tell you how far it went,” Smith said. “It definitely went a good distance and it started to do a barrel roll, slid on its side.”Two of those injured, a 35-year-old woman and 25-year-old man, were inside the suspect vehicle.
