The final farewell for Webster native and Cleveland Police Officer Jamieson Ritter, who was killed in the line of duty last week, is taking place Saturday.

Ritter, 27, was fatally shot on the Fourth of July while chasing after a suspect who is accused of killing his grandmother the week prior.Ritter's accused killer is now facing several charges, including three counts of aggravated murder, and is being held on $5 million bail. All week long, people have been coming together here in New York and in Ohio to honor the life and legacy of Ritter, a McQuaid Jesuit and Syracuse University graduate who served the U.S. Army National Guard before becoming a Cleveland police officer.We are deeply saddened at the loss of our beloved family member who was tragically killed in the line of duty.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support from the Cleveland and Rochester communities during this difficult time. It is a testament to the impact that Jamieson had on those around him and the legacy he leaves behind.
