Local police officers, firefighters and community members stood in silence as a fallen hero was brought home Tuesday.

A procession carries the body of Webster native Jamieson Ritter , a Cleveland police officer killed in the line of duty, home to the Rochester area, making its final stop at the Falvo Funeral Home in Penfield for his funeral and burial. Rochester , N.Y. —

Ritter's father, Jon, is a retired Greece police officer. He was injured in the 2012 Christmas Eve ambush on Lake Road in Webster that killed two West Webster firefighters and injured two others."We know Jon very well from our event back in 2012, so he knows who we are, we know who he is, and we just want them to know that we are behind them 100 percent," Sienkiewicz said.

"He was one of the fun ones to have in class," Nesbitt said. "He grew up to be a good man, and I’d like to think that McQuaid had a part in that."
