MELAKA: Melakans must continue to foster inter-racial harmony and integration, says Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali in his maiden Hari Raya message as Chief Minister.
"Some segments of the society feared that the new state government would neglect them, but I can affirmatively state that I am a Chief Minister for all Melakans," he said in an interview on Saturday . "Melaka has been known as a cultural melting pot since the era of the Sultanate and maintaining harmonious relationship within the various ethnicities is a continuous effort by all," he said.
"The bond of Malays, Chinese, Indian, Portuguese and Peranakan communities will never be shattered by those attempting to divide us through race-baiting," he said.
