JOHOR BARU: The Johor government has assured the public that there is sufficient supply of agricultural products for Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year during the conditional movement control order (MCO) period.

State agriculture, agro-based and rural development committee chairman Datuk Samsolbari Jamali said that as the main supplier of meat, chicken, fish and vegetables, Johor has ensured that it has enough supply for the festive season.

He also said that agricultural and farming activities were conducted as usual during the conditional MCO period.“Although there was an increase in the demand of fish during the conditional MCO, we still have sufficient supply for Hari Raya," he said, adding that the production of chicken eggs is also stable.

“Although night markets and farmers' markets are not allowed to operate during the conditional MCO, the state government through the state Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority has provided eight controlled fresh markets to operate throughout the state as well as 18 agrobazaars.
