A former commissioner for Dauphin County, Jeff Haste, who has sparked concerns of corruption, has now been removed from all board positions he holds after a vot
e by the current county commissioners.During Wednesday's meeting, Commissioner Justin Douglas raised a motion to remove Haste from all current board positions that he held which include the Dauphin County Board of Assessment and Appeals, the Dauphin County Redevelopment Authority, and the Dauphin County Land Bank Authority.
"These concerns represent a pattern of potential misuse of authority and priviledge raising serious risks of similar issues arising in his continued service on these boards," said Douglas while bringing up the motion.Back on Oct. 2, the same motion to remove Haste from county boards was raised by Douglas but were vetoed by Hartwick and Pries.
Commissioners also unanimously approved to rescind Haste's $60,000 contract with the NRA as a liaison for the Great American Outdoor Show during Wednesday's meeting. These votes come after CBS 21's Elise Person previously spoke to Douglas about Haste approving millions of dollars to Visit Hershey Harrisburg when Haste's wife was employed there.Douglas also had confirmed that the FBI recently visited VHH in August and is working to receive paperwork as to why the visit took place.
CBS 21 has reached out to Douglas for further comment on the vote and are waiting to hear back. CBS 21 has also reached out to an attorney for Haste but have not heard back.
