Floods: Situation improves in Johor, another 429 evacuees return home

JOHOR BARU: The number of flood evacuees in Johor has seen a slight decline with some 43,667 people seeking shelter at 172 temporary relief centres as of 8pm on Friday (March 10).

The state disaster management committee said that some 429 people returned home as the flood situation improved."Two temporary relief centres at Tangkak and Segamat have been closed while one relief centre has been opened in Batu Pahat," it said.

It added that as of 8pm, there are 172 active temporary relief centres with 113 of them in Batu Pahat. "Batu Pahat remains the district with the most number of evacuees with some 37,878 people from 10,624 families.Article type: free
