This is only four months after owner, Henrik Fisker ,that the company would potentially file sooner rather than later unless a large OEM stepped up to help it remain in business by injecting $350 million in funding. Rumors were that Nissan was that company, but the rumor was denied by the Japanese automaker and Fisker began looking for new options.

It also stated that it had secured up to $150 million in funding, but that was contingent on certain conditionsafter its shares lost 28 percent of their value. Clearly, the last ditch funding option didn't happen, and ultimately the only option leftAccording to Reuters, Fisker's assets are believed to be somewhere between $500 million to $1 billion, but its liabilities are estimated to be between $100 million to $500 million.
