MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Central and south Alabama will stay in a warm, mostly dry pattern through Friday, with clouds early giving way to plenty of afternoon sunshine. A front moves through Friday night, bringing gusty winds and cooler, more seasonal air for the weekend.
The warm pattern returns early next week as we transition from March into April, with temperatures climbing back above normal.Today will be another warm day, with clouds early and mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. Highs will climb well above normal, into the 80s. Dry conditions continue, making for a great afternoon to get outside or for evening plans. A front moves through Friday night into early Saturday, bringing gusty winds and setting up a cooler, more seasonal weekend.Saturday turns cooler and closer to seasonal levels behind the front. Skies will be mostly sunny, but dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to elevated fire danger. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across central and south Alabama due to low humidity, dry fuels, and winds gusting up to 30 mph. Avoid outdoor burning, keep vehicles off dry grass, and properly discard cigarettes.
