More changes ahead for Thanksgiving week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Patchy dense fog will be an issue in spots this morning. Once the fog lifts, the big story will be the chance for scattered rain and a few rumbles of thunder as a boundary moves through the region.

Not everyone will see rain. Our streak of near–record-breaking warmth continues through the end of the week and into the start of the weekend, with highs pushing 80 degrees or above. Looking ahead to Thanksgiving week, rain chances return and colder temperatures are expected by the holiday. This morning, out-the-door temperatures are in the 50s and 60s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. As the morning progresses, pockets of dense fog may develop across central and south Alabama, so stay alert during early morning commutes. Cloud cover increases Friday as a frontal boundary approaches. Highs remain warm, in the 70s and 80s, with south to southwest winds. Rain chances increase throughout the day. Lows once again fall into the 50s and 60s as we head into a weekend that looks to include some wet weather.Watch the latest live and local weather data below, streaming on WSFA Weather Now! Please note, this stream does not include live severe weather coverage, only data on the latest weather conditions. This weekend, rain chances linger as the system moves through the region. It doesn’t look like a total washout, but spotty showers are possible, mainly Saturday morning. Temperatures hold in the 70s and 80s during the day on both Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the 50s and 60s at night. Another boundary is projected to move through sometime in the middle of next week, bringing another round of rain and thunderstorm chances. There are still plenty of question marks with this system, so expect adjustments. Stay tuned for updates. Behind that front, long-range data points to colder, more seasonal weather as we head into the end of next week—covering Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and into Iron Bowl weekend.Teacher loses her job after video surfaces of ‘egregious’ abuse of her son, sheriff saysFirst Alert: Rain chances return FridayMild and muggy today, but rain could return soon...
