One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash in west Columbus.
Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said that at approximately 5:48 p.m., a Polaris Slingshot three-wheeled vehicle was traveling north on Phillipi Road leaving Toro Bar and Grill.
The driver of the Polaris lost control of the vehicle and hit the side of a black Honda Pilot that was in the southbound lanes of Phillip Road, stopped in the eastbound turn lane. The Polaris continued traveling north, losing its front driver's side wheel, causing it to veer to the west. The vehicle hit a curb, a pole, and then a parked Honda Civic, Baldwin said.
The Polaris traveled up the front hood of the Civic and landed on a parked BMW 320i. Baldwin said no one was inside either of the parked cars.The driver was pronounced dead at 6:48 p.m. and the passenger is in critical condition, Baldwin said.The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
