North Side drivers should expect traffic headaches this week, as the Texas Department of Transportation is planning nightly closures of a stretch of Loop 1604 and several major roads running beneath it. TxDOT will close Loop 1604 's eastbound lanes at its crossing with Stone Oak Parkway from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night through Friday so crews can install barriers as part of a long-running expansion project, according to a news release.
's new downtown ride-hailing service not hitting goals The work is part of TxDOT’s $1.4 billion Loop 1604 North Expansion Project overhauling the stretch of Loop 1604 between Bandera Road and Interstate 35. TxDOT is planning several other major closures this week as part of the project: The northbound and southbound lanes of Blanco Road between Loop 1604 and Madera Parkway will be closed from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night from Monday until Saturday.
