Drivers on the far Northwest Side of San Antonio will encounter construction closures this weekend near La Cantera and The Rim. The closures, part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, will affect both eastbound and westbound ramps.

Drivers on the far Northwest Side will have to navigate around some construction closures this weekend near La Cantera and The Rim. As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will close the I-10 Eastbound frontage road south of Loop 1604 and the Loop 1604 EB exit ramp to I-10 EB.a single lane from Loop 1604 to the UTSA Boulevard exit ramp, and the I-10 EB bypass lane south of the Loop 1604 interchange.
The other ramp closure will be on the Loop 1604 westbound bypass lane and the Loop 1604 WB exit ramp to I-10 WB for bridge construction. The closures are expected to last from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2025All travelers on the I-10 EB frontage road looking to continue south of Loop 1604 will turn left onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. They will then turn left onto the I-10 WB frontage road and follow it to the La Cantera Parkway turnaround.
