A new Stranger Things release confirms Eleven's return, marking a first for the franchise. The upcoming animated series, Stranger Things: Tales from '85, will feature Eleven and her friends investigating a new mystery in Hawkins, with a new character, Nikki, and a plot involving the Upside Down.
Eleven is coming back in a new Stranger Things release, which has now had its release date revealed, and the project's story will mark a first for the Netflix franchise. Almost a month since the Stranger Things series finale was released, the Sci-Fi series continues to be among Netflix 's Top Ten TV Shows worldwide, currently standing at 7th on the chart.
That shows the strength of the series, and while the main show has ended, multiple Stranger Things spinoffs are in development. After Stranger Things season 5 left Eleven's fate uncertain, fans have been asking for more stories with the character. While that is not exactly what is in play in a new Stranger Things release, Eleven is confirmed to return for it. Eleven's Stranger Things Return Date Has Been Revealed It had been previously revealed that the first Stranger Things spinoff would be an animated series, Stranger Things: Tales from '85, which is set to take place between seasons 2 and 3 of the Netflix show. As such, Eleven is very much alive during that time, with the character being recast for the upcoming show, given that Millie Bobby Brown has aged out of the role. While Stranger Things: Tales from '85 will premiere on Netflix in 2026, we still don't have a firm release date for the upcoming Sci-Fi series. That said, it has now been confirmed that Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Chapter Book #1 will be available on September 1st, 2026. The new book will see Eleven return alongside her friends to explore a new mystery in Hawkins. According to the description, Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Will, Max, and Dustin will team up once again, only this time it will be with the addition of a new character, Nikki, which marks the spinoff's first alteration to Stranger Things' lore. A Lost and Found box infected with Upside Down spores is the source of their investigation, setting up an exciting new adventure. Eleven's Upcoming Stranger Things Return Explores Something The Netflix Series Didn't Really Use The animated Stranger Things: Tales from '85 and its companion books will undoubtedly explore many elements that were not used by the original series. That much has been made clear with the synopsis for Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Chapter Book #1, and I could not be more excited to finally get into a Stranger Things story where Hawkins is covered in snow. This marks a first for the Netflix franchise, as the only key moment where we saw snow in Hawkins was when Hopper left Eggos for Eleven in the snowy forest. The whole point of continuing the franchise after the end of the main show is to focus on new things. As such, finally seeing the party in a snowy adventure after Stranger Things did not do that will be exciting. Stranger Things is a Netflix series set in the 1980s, where the mysterious disappearance of a young boy leads a small town to uncover secret experiments and supernatural forces.
