Multiple wildfires are raging across the East Coast, forcing evacuations and prompting warnings from officials. Dry conditions, strong winds, and low humidity are fueling the spread of the blazes.

Crews along the East Coast are working tirelessly to contain numerous wildfires that erupted over the weekend. Authorities have issued evacuation orders for residents as flames approach neighborhoods, urging them to seek safety elsewhere. Fires have been reported across a wide swathe of the region, from the Delmarva Peninsula and New Jersey shore to the Carolinas and Georgia. The risk of wildfires is expected to persist through Sunday.

\The FOX Forecast Center has issued a warning, stating that the combination of low humidity, strong winds, and dry vegetation has significantly increased the danger of fires spreading uncontrollably. Relative humidity levels on Saturday were reported to be between 15% and 30%, while wind gusts of up to 40 mph fueled the rapid growth of the fires. Some of the most significant wildfires have been reported in areas such as Mott State Park in New Jersey, Polk County in western North Carolina, and Horry County in South Carolina. \In Horry County, fire officials have ordered new evacuations overnight and into Sunday morning in the Carolina Forest area, directing residents to the Carolina Forest Recreation Center for safety. Officials have also urged the public to avoid the area and stay off the roads to allow first responders to effectively combat the blaze. As of early Sunday morning, approximately 410 personnel were deployed, operating at least 127 fire apparatus. The South Carolina Forestry Commission reports two active fires in Horry County, one spanning approximately 12,000 acres and the other about 600 acres. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. Evacuation notices have been issued in areas where homes are in close proximity to flames, such as the Grand Strand of South Carolina and the western region of North Carolina, including the community of Tryon, North Carolina. However, as of Saturday evening, local authorities have not confirmed any destroyed homes resulting from the fires.
