Updated: Jan. 21, 2026, 8:29 a.m.On Dec. 22, a concerned on I-77 southbound called police about a tan Chevy Malibu driving recklessly on the highway. After exiting at Royalton Road heading westbound, the Chevy nearly hit other vehicles while traveling on the wrong side of the street.
An officer observed the Malibu straddling two lanes before going through a red light at Broadview Road where it nearly avoided a head-on collision with two more vehicles. The female driver, who appeared disoriented, admitted to just getting out of rehab for fentanyl detoxification. She denied drinking but fabulously failed a field sobriety test, including using her arms for balance. The woman then spit out a balled-up piece of paper from her mouth that contained a brown substance, which tested positive for fentanyl.She was cited for OVI, driving left of center and not obeying traffic control devices.On Dec. 20, police were dispatched to a Ridge Park Drive address regarding a vandalism complaint.
