President Donald Trump signed an executive order prohibiting transgender women and girls from competing in women's sports. The order, titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” directs federal agencies to withdraw funding from schools that do not comply.
The two set up a third meeting behind area tournament semifinal wins on Thursday night at the Dothan High gym.
“I took a video of us walking off the floor last year and I sent it to the guys to make sure they weren’t walking in the game, 'Hey, it is JAG. We are going to win.’ I wanted to make sure our guys were focused.”The Wolves earned an 8-2 lead behind Josh Reed, who hit 1-of-2 free throws, scored on a fastbreak layup and hit a 3-pointer. Diggy Coleman added a fastbreak layup.
“We defended and I thought we did a good job of handling their pressure,” Bynum said of the first half. “When they tried to trap us, we got layups. We also gave them only one shot on most possessions.” A layup by J.A.G.’s Jamund Adair cut it back to a 12-point game to start the fourth, but Dothan answered with nine straight points to regain control of the game for good. Lee hit his third 3-pointer of the night after a nice pass from Rollins, Berry scored on two straight fastbreak layups, the second after a nice pass from Rollins, and Coleman scored on a layup before Berry finished the run with another fastbreak layup.
Bogewell led the Jaguars with 22 points, including 12 in the third quarter. Adair followed with seven points. After a backcourt violation on the opening possession, Enterprise shined on both ends of the court during the first quarter. Offensively, EHS hit 7-of-13 shots from the floor. Defensively, they caused five turnovers and didn’t give the Wolverines many good shooting looks.
