DAVID MUNDEE The Enterprise girls wrestling team tuned up for the postseason on Thursday with a dominating win over Dothan in a historic first dual between the two programs.

“I thought the girls wrestled tough,” Enterprise head coach Billy Landry said. “Our main goal is sectionals and overall is state, so we used every minute of our time to get these matches in. This is our last one until sectionals, so that is why we were trying our best to give the others a match if they don’t make the sectional lineup as this is probably the end of their season.”

Dothan’s Tatianna Pate won the 120-match up, taking a 10-8 decision over Enterprise’s Olivia Callen in the dual’s best match. Delylah Richards won by pin with 53 seconds left in the first period over Jenna Mitchell at 145 and Mackenzie Schultz, another reigning state champion, received a forfeit win for EHS at 152.

The final match of the dual was at 100 pounds with Enterprise’s Tikeyuna Sanders claiming a first-period pin with a minute left over Dothan’s A’Jiyah Crosdale.
