Raccoons at Austin Wildlife Rescue are getting some unexpected comfort during rehabilitation, lounging in denim hammocks fashioned from donated jeans.
The nonprofit organization repurposes donated jeans by tying off the legs and hanging them by their belt loops using carabiners, creating small hammocks for wildlife in their care. Staff say the fabric does more than just provide a cozy resting spot. "Fabric actually helps mimic a natural den for them," Austin Wildlife Rescue said. "They provide warmth, soft support, and a sense of security for our animals."Workers tie the pant legs closed and clip the waistband loops directly to enclosure walls or frames. The denim's durability makes it well-suited for the task. The organization said the heavy fabric withstands claws and small paws without snagging, while still allowing airflow to keep animals comfortable. The latest polling of Texas voters continues to show a close Republican primary race as John Cornyn defends his seat in the U.S. Senate.According to a February'Florida has the number one economy in the nation because of our commitment to law and order.'With one day remaining in early voting, turnout in the Texas primary election has been high from the start, with Democratic voters outpacing Republicans in partDeputies in Brazos County are searching for a woman who was last seen on Wednesday afternoon in Bryan. The Brazos County Sheriff's Office says that 53-year-old NWith just days until the polls close on the primary election in Texas, polling data shows the Republican nomination for Texas Attorney General lacks a clear fro
