Mitov is confident the season can be a successful one but isn't getting swept up after making it Nine in a Row
The Dons continued their 100 per cent start to the season as Kevin Nisbet’s stoppage-time winner in Dingwall made it nine in a row under Jimmy Thelin. That is 12 points out of 12 in the Premiership and another five wins in the Premier Sports Cup.
The Red Army chanted their team are going to win the league as they left the Global Energy Stadium on Saturday evening. They can dream but it is clear Thelin and his players will not be getting carried away. Summer signing Mitov added: “It’s a very positive start to the season but no matter that it may be boring for people to keep hearing us say that we take it game by game, that is genuinely the case. That’s why we’ve had such a successful start.
There was quite a bit of VAR controversy in this one. County thought they had taken the lead 17 minutes in when Hale netted but a review saw it chalked off because Eamonn Brophy had strayed offside in the build-up. Hale, hunting his fifth goal in seven games, placed his penalty low to Mitov’s right but the keeper second-guessed him to save at full stretch. The Dons No.1 said: “I am really happy I managed to help the team. But for me the most important save was straight after the penalty to release the pressure from the team. It was a really good penalty save. I just had a feeling – it felt right going that way. It’s about choosing a side and making sure you dive.
