Defendant accused in stabbing death of man in Chula Vista hotel room pleads not guilty to murder [Breaking]
Jesse Valdez walked into a hotel room in Chula Vista earlier this month but he never walked out, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
Near the end of the arraignment, Judge Amalia Meza ordered Rodriguez to remain held in county jail on a no-bail status. A second suspect, Ally Mistone, 36, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of murder, conspiracy to commit a crime and accessory after the fact in connection with Valdez’s death. Her arraignment is set for Wednesday.
Surveillance video obtained from the hotel shows that Valdez walked into a room at the hotel at 12:40 p.m. on April 1, Andersen said in court. A minute later, Rodriguez entered, wearing gloves. Two minutes later, Rodriguez walked out with a shirt over his face.
