Storms will be moving across the region from west to east Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms are expected in the Dallas-Fort Worth area between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Additional rain Friday is likely to hit the metro before 1 p.m., per the weather service.The current storms that are ongoing across portions of Central Texas will continue to push through this afternoon and evening, with yet another round pushing through late tonight through early tomorrow morning.
The area south of Interstate 20 into Central Texas will be under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Thursday. The risks for this area include winds up to 65 mph and hail up to 1.5 inches, according to the weather service.Dallas will be under a flood warning until 5 a.m. Friday morning, with a flood watch continuing until 7 p.m. Friday night, the weather service said. Periods of heavy rainfall are expected, with some areas receiving up to 3 inches of rainfall.
