The event is free and open to the public.PENINSULA, Ohio – Cuyahoga Valley National Park will host U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón for a special event on July 12 at 6 p.m. at Ledges Shelter .” signature project, according to a park news release. For the project, Limón will travel to seven national parks.
“‘You Are Here: Poetry in the Parks’ aims to deepen our connection to nature through poetry,” Limón said in the news release. “I believe the way we respond to this crucial moment on our planet could define humanity forever. In conceiving of my signature project, I wanted something that could both praise our sacred and natural wonders and also speak the complex truths of this urgent time.
“Artists have been inspired by the Cuyahoga Valley for generations, " Superintendent Lisa Petit said in the release. “We are honored that Ada Limón has chosen CVNP to be part of her signature project, which will encourage people to continue the long tradition of celebrating the intersection of art and nature.”
