A Cumberland County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend and hiding his body. Dennis shot Patrick Trotter twice during a confrontation at a Millville residence in October 2021. He then dragged Trotter's body to a wooded area and concealed it with debris.

A judge has sentenced a Cumberland County man to 30 years in prison for killing his ex’s new boyfriend and hiding his body under grass clippings and trash., on eight counts, including second-degree charges of passion provocation manslaughter and desecration of human remains, in the Oct. 23, 2021, killing of Patrick Trotter in Millville.

Dennis shot Trotter twice, then dragged his body into a wooded area behind the house and concealed him with grass clippings, leaves and trash, according to prosecutors. The defendant was arrested nearly three weeks after the killing. Superior Court Judge Cristen P.
