Public outcry from the community did not stop this divisive fast food restaurant from opening.
Known for fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and generally anything with chicken dipped in batter and cooked in hot oil,When the news of the East Bay outpost was first announced,
to allow the fast food company to lease the building that formerly had a Panera Bread. However, the public outcry did not change the decision of the city for Chick-fil-A to move forward with the lease.that “a company’s policies are not a factor in land use and design review decisions.”
