By 9 a.m. north-northeast winds are forecast to push the system over the Chicago area. Total snow accumulations could range between 2 and 6 inches, areas near Lake Michigan will likely have more.will take effect for Cook, DuPage, Lake counties starting Friday at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.will take effect for Porter County and Lake County starting Friday at 3 p.m. until Saturday 6 p.m.starting 3 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday.As for weekend temperatures, Saturday kicks off a "less cold " trend with highs in the mid-20s.
