A man was killed and a suspect was among three others injured in a South Side shooting on Monday afternoon, Chicago police said.
A man was killed in a Greater Grand Crossing shooting in Chicago near East 71st Street and South State Street, police said. A suspect is among 3 hurt.
According to preliminary police information, a male suspect, whose age was not immediately known, got into a dispute with someone, who they shot in the leg. A 49-year-old man, who had been standing at a nearby ATM, was shot in his forehead. He was taken to the same hospital in grave condition.Police got a description of the suspect, who officers later found and placed in custody. He was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses said children nearby went running for cover in any direction when the gunfire erupted, sprinting inside a nearby gas station and a Subway sandwich shop.
