A better coverage of storms expected Tue PM and eve, with an attendant threat of damaging winds and large hail.At that time, the Storm Prediction Center showed parts of the area, especially in counties to the north, under a"marginal" risk of severe weather, which ranks as level one of five. If storms do form, they could contain large hail and strong winds. By 8 a.m., rain and storms will push southwards, especially along and south of I-80, the NBC 5 Storm Team said. Later Tuesday afternoon and evening, a higher chance for storms and showers moves in. Areas to the south and east, including Will and Kankakee Counties in Illinois and parts of northwest Indiana will be under a"marginal" risk of severe weather, which ranks as level two.The strongest thunderstorms Tuesday, the National Weather Service said, could produce damaging winds that could down tree limbs, large hail and even tornadoes.While Tuesday will also see temperatures in the 70s, temperatures Wednesday will plummet, dropping into the 40s, with blustery conditions. More occasional showers and storm chances will continue through the end of the week, the NWS said. A few storms possible tonight, but better chances expected Tue PM and Eve, some could be strong to severe. Much cooler and blustery weather for Wed, followed by more occasional showers and storms for second half of week.
