Jackson Regan converted a huge fourth down and then capped the drive with a touchdown to help Canyon hold off New Braunfels and win the Wurst Bowl.
Quick take: New Braunfels Canyon 's Jackson Regan dropped what would’ve been an easy touchdown early in Friday night’s game. With just a field goal lead against New Braunfels on a fourth-and-1 on Canyon's own 39-yard line late in the fourth quarter, Regan made up for his mistake and moved the sticks while capping off the drive with a touchdown to guide Canyon to a 38-21 win at Cougar Stadium . It's the Cougars ' third straight win in the Wurst Bowl .
Regan scored a 1-yard touchdown at the end of the 10-play drive before senior quarterback Reece Deitrick ran one in himself on Canyon’s final possession of the game. “We needed some adversity,” Regan said. “ didn’t face adversity last week, but we’re used to adversity in this rivalry.” What it means: Canyon's third straight win in the Wurst Bowl is its longest streak in the series.
