As strong and damaging winds battered most of Southern California , a large brush fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in Pacific Palisades .Fire crews responded around 10:30 a.m. to a fire in the area of Piedra Morada and Monte Hermoso drives.Around 11 a.m., fire crews said roughly 20 acres had burned. By 11:40 a.m., crews on the scene estimated the size of the fire to be roughly 200 acres. Several structures are being threatened.
Los Angeles city emergency services officials are urging residents to be prepared to evacuate. Evacuation warnings are now in place for a number of structures in the area. Fire crews on scene requested evacuations for the entire area down to Pacific Coast Highway. Fire officials say evacuation warnings are in place from Topanga Canyon on the west to Rustic Canyon on the east. There are reports from the scene of multiple structures burning
