“We’re going into 10 years in September and I’m so proud of having this outlet, I’m so grateful. It’s the thing that has sustained, fulfilled and helped me, and I really feel that what I wanted to put into this collection, I wanted more people to wear it and have it,” he said during a preview. “I want people to get dressed up and feel good, but I also want people to have a sweater to wear to work.
Through that lens, there were plenty of great cashmere knits to choose from, such as lofty polo turtlenecks and high-collared wrapped jackets, all with 18-karat gold and rhodium-plated silver rounded “macaroon“-shaped buttons. They played into his overall desire to give customers a full collection ofsilhouettes that have performed well for the brand, in new iterations and natural fabrications while upholding a strong sense of ease.
Even his signature strict high necks were softened into a cowl on minimalist-bent styles, as seen on a slinky black knit halter gown; a cotton sleeveless blouse; a knit version of his bestselling leather biker jacket, and a new spongey, refined shantung dress made up of individual hand-folded and washed panels.
“I think that I’m interested in approaching the next 10 years of this brand, should I be lucky enough to have it, with a reality,” Maxwell said.
