Republican Precinct 3 Commissioner Grant Moody was the sole holdout against the upgrade, according to TPR.Most smaller Texas counties use TEAM, or the Texas Election Administration Management system. However, Travis County has also experienced trouble integrating its system with TEAM, TPR reports. The radio station didn't mention what registration system Travis County uses. The Current reached out to the Travis County Tax Office for specifics on its system but got no response by press time late Wednesday afternoon. Moody opposes replacing Votech because he anticipates the county will join with the state's TEAM system by November, according to TPR. However, Precinct 4 County Commissioner Tommy Calvert, one four Democrats on Commissioners Court, said time is of the essence while the registration backlog continues to build. "I just see this as a very important tool to keep our elections department processing the registrations and all those groups we've supported financially with voter registration activity," he said."Their work is for naught, and we risk liability at getting a lawsuit against us at this very moment."
