Storm chances are increasing throughout the week in the Valley! Today, we'll see about a 20% of rain with a high near 106°F.

Our active weather week continues!Following scattered strong to severe storms on Monday evening, another round of scattered storms is forecast for Tuesday. The best storm chances around Arizona will be focused over northern Arizona and far southern Arizona.

Storms in southern Arizona this afternoon have the potential to kick up dust and/or winds into this evening. Those winds and dust may impact the Valley with a 20% chance of showers to make their way into the metro area.Like yesterday, any thunderstorms that develop around the state have the potential to turn strong or severe with heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning. While chances for the Valley surge up from the south on Tuesday, they'll shift in from the east on Wednesday. Another round of showers and storms is forecast to pop by midday Wednesday with a few stronger storms potentially running down the mountains and into the Valley by late day or early evening. Again, chances sit around 20-30% in Phoenix and the surrounding suburbs.Temperatures in the next couple of days will start to drop. The forecast high is 107 on Tuesday and 103 on Wednesday in Phoenix.By Thursday and Friday, increased moisture is expected thanks to a tropical system that will begin to track northward along the Mexican coastline. It's still not certain whether this system will run inland by the weekend or weaken over the sea. However, regardless of its track, tropical moisture is expected to Arizona in Arizona on Thursday and Friday, with extra clouds and cooler temperatures. Depending on the exact track, the period of heavier rain and/or storms may shift from Thursday to Friday and rain totals will rely on the track, too.Temperatures are forecast to reach just 99 degrees on Thursday in Phoenix and 94 degrees on Friday. Highs are expected to remain in the 90s over the weekend as well. You can always check the latest weather conditions by visiting the FOX 10 Phoenix weather page, or download the Free FOX 10 Weather app, which is available on Apple iOS and Android.Scroll down this page for satellite and radar, day planner, records, current temperatures, 10-day forecast, forecast highs, and recent rainfall totals, plus live video feeds. The following heat safety information was provided by the Scottsdale Fire Department. What are Heat Emergencies?Heat Cramps: Profuse sweating, fatigue, extreme thirst, muscle crampsHeat Exhaustion: Headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea/vomit, cool/moist skinHeat Stroke: Elevated temp. +103degrees, confusion/irrational behavior, dry/hot skin, rapid shallow breathing, rapid weak pulse , seizures, unconsciousThe Arizona Department of Health Services stated the following precautions can be taken to prevent heat exhaustion or heat stroke:The Arizona Department of Transportation’s tips for driving in extreme temperatures include: Have sun protection: In addition to an umbrella, take sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat and wear loose-fitting, light-colored cotton clothing.Fuel up: Keep your tank at three-quarters full.
