BBC Breakfast viewers were left mystified this morning when presenter Charlie Stayt failed to take his place next to Naga Munchetty, with no explanation for why he was missing
BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt has been reliably on the famous BBC Breakfast sofa alongside Naga Munchetty every morning from Thursday to Sunday for the past two years. But this morning, June 7, viewers were surprised to see him replaced by another BBC presenter, Roger Johnson.
The star initially joined BBC Breakfast by doing the weekend news coverage, but following former host Dan Walker's departure back in April 2022, Charlie was able to take over the role of the main weekday presenter of the show alongside Naga. Fans online said: “What a great interview with Charlie and Roy. I just want to give Roy a big hug and thank him and his friends for what they did and gave for us all.” And “Extraordinary and moving interview by Charlie Stayt with a 98-year old WW2 veteran.”
The weatherman responded: "You're right, Naga," adding it would "turn chilly" but there would be "a few sunny spells".
